Transliteration:( Laa shareeka lahoo wa bizaalika umirtu wa ana awwalul muslimeen )
"There is none associated with Him, so I have been commanded so. And I am (Muhammad ﷺ) the first Muslim."
(Kanzul Imaan Translation)
This verse reaffirms the doctrine of Tawheed (Oneness of Allah) by stating that there is no partner with Allah in any aspect—neither in divinity, lordship, nor in worship. The Prophet ﷺ is declaring that this absolute monotheism is the central command he has received.
The phrase “I am the first Muslim” does not imply chronological order in worldly terms but signifies the highest rank and most perfect submission in the spiritual hierarchy of creation. It means:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was the first in creation to accept and submit to Allah’s lordship, even before the physical world came into being.
In the pre-temporal realm (ʿĀlam al-Arwāḥ – Realm of Souls), when Allah asked, "Am I not your Lord?" it was the Holy Prophet ﷺ who responded first with "Yes", even before other Prophets and souls responded.
This affirms the eternal spiritual leadership of the Prophet ﷺ in the Ummah and beyond.
