Transliteration:( Wa likullin darajaatum mimmaa 'amiloo; wa maa Rabbuka bighaafilin 'ammaa ya'maloon )
“And for everyone are degrees according to what they have done [293]. And your Lord is not unaware of what they do.”
This verse affirms that rewards and punishments are not equal—they vary based on individual deeds. In Paradise, people will have different ranks and blessings based on the quality and quantity of their actions. Likewise, in Hell, punishments will differ by the level of sin.
The verse may also imply that the same deed may yield different rewards, depending on intention, effort, or situational need. A virtuous act in one place or time may carry more reward than in another.
According to Hadith, rewards are also tied to a person’s intelligence and understanding—the more capable one is, the more accountability they bear. This shows that Islam considers context, need, and individual capacity when assigning divine reward or punishment. Allah is fully aware of every action, no matter how small.
