Transliteration:( Summa ruddooo ilallaahi mawlaahumul haqq; alaa lahul hukmu wa Huwa asra'ul haasibeen )
"Then they are returned back [126] to Allah, their true Lord. His is the command, and He is the quickest in taking account." [127]
This verse confirms that after death, souls are immediately presented before Allah, their true and ultimate Master. As established in Hadith, the soul is first brought to Divine Presence and only then returned to the grave. This reflects the reality that the true return is to Allah, not to the physical earth.
The phrase “quickest in taking account” means that on the Day of Judgement, Allah will judge all creation in the span of half a day of this world, approximately four hours. The remaining part of that Day will be dedicated to glorifying the Holy Prophet ﷺ and revealing his true, exalted status before all. As stated in Surah 17:79:
"It is near that your Lord may make you stand at a place where all should praise you."
This reinforces both the speed of Divine justice and the immense honour reserved for the Beloved of Allah ﷺ.
