Transliteration:( Wa maa yaf'aloo min khairin falai yukfarooh; wallaahu 'aleemun bilmuttaqeen )
"And whatever good they do will not be denied [254]. And Allah is All-Knowing of the righteous."
From this we learn that no matter how many good deeds a non-believer performs in this world, he will have no right to claim forgiveness or the mercy of Allah Almighty in the Hereafter. This is because faith (iman) is a precondition for the validity and acceptance of good deeds, just as wudu (ablution) is necessary for Salaah (prayer). If the root (faith) is cut off, then watering the branches (good deeds) becomes pointless and fruitless.
