Transliteration:( Fariheena bimaaa aataa humul laahu min fadlihee wa yastabshiroona billazeena lam yalhaqoo bihim min khalfihim allaa khawfun 'alaihim wa laa hum yahzanoon )
“They rejoice with the bounties provided to them by Allah [387] and are jubilant with regard to their successors who have not yet joined them [388]. They will have no fear, nor shall they grieve [389].”
This verse highlights that the martyrs rejoice over the bounties and favors granted to them by Allah Almighty in the Hereafter.
They are also filled with joy in anticipation of the arrival of their believing companions—those who have not yet attained martyrdom but will soon join them in Paradise. The martyrs eagerly await their arrival, joyfully preparing to welcome them.
From this verse, two significant points emerge:
This is a clear affirmation that martyrs are alive.
It also confirms that they are aware of the condition of those still living on earth—especially their righteous survivors who will eventually join them in martyrdom.
This proves that martyrs not only live on, but also remain conscious of worldly events and the state of the believers left behind. Otherwise, the emotion of happiness at their reunion would be meaningless.
A Hadith states that when a Muslim woman quarrels with her husband, the hoorīs of Paradise say, “Do not trouble him, for he will soon be coming to us.” This demonstrates that hoorīs possess awareness and foresight.
If this is true for hoorīs, then how much greater is the knowledge of our Holy Prophet ﷺ, who possesses complete knowledge of the past, present, and future by Allah’s will.
The martyrs are not only rewarded, but also freed from all fear and sorrow. This is a status of complete spiritual peace, where they neither fear any future loss nor grieve over anything left behind in the world. It is the ultimate tranquility and honor reserved for those who gave their lives in the path of Allah.

(3:170) rejoicing in what Allah has bestowed upon them out of His bounty,[121] jubilant that neither fear nor grief shall come upon the believers left behind in the world who have not yet joined them.
121. There is a Tradition from the Prophet that he who leaves the world after having lived righteously is greeted with a life so felicitous that he never wishes to return to the world. The only exception to this are martyrs who wish to be sent back to the world so that they may once again attain martyrdom and thereby enjoy that unique joy, bliss and ecstasy which one experiences at the time of laying down one’s life for God.
