📖 Commentary / Tafsir of Surah Aal-e-Imran – Verse 22

"They are the ones whose deeds will bear them no fruit in this world and the Hereafter, and for them, there will be no helpers [49]."

✅ [49] Two-Fold Punishment for the Criminals

These disbelievers face two forms of punishment:

  1. Their good deeds will be rendered void—neither will these bring relief in worldly hardships, nor will they carry reward in the Hereafter.

  2. They will find no helper on the Day of Judgment, unlike the believers, who will be supported by their deeds and granted intercession.

Ibn-Kathir

Please refer to Surah Imran ayat 21 which provides the complete commentary from verse 21 through 22.

(3:22) These are the people whose works have gone to waste in this world and in the World to Come.[20] They have none to help them.[21]

Ala-Maududi

(3:22) These are the people whose works have gone to waste in this world and in the World to Come.[20] They have none to help them.[21]

20. They have spent their efforts and energies in a manner leading to catastrophic results in this world and the Next.

21. No power can make these misdeeds either bear good fruit or prevent them bearing evil fruit. The powers upon which the wrong-doers rely for support in this world and in the World to Come will not be of any help to them.

(22) They are the ones whose deeds have become worthless in this world and the Hereafter, and for them there will be no helpers.
