Transliteration:( Rabbanaa laa tuzigh quloobanaa ba'da iz hadaitanaa wa hab lanaa mil ladunka rahmah; innaka antal Wahhaab )
"O our Lord! Let not our hearts become perverse [14] after You have guided us. And bestow on us Your Mercy. Surely, only You are the Bestower [15]."
This supplication reflects the fear of deviation from truth after having received guidance.
The phrase “Let not our hearts become perverse” means: do not let us fall into heresy or misguidance after we’ve been shown the Straight Path.
Just as receiving guidance is a great favor of Allah, remaining steadfast upon it is an equally great divine blessing.
Hence, even the rightly guided ask for protection from misguidance, recognizing their dependence on Allah for spiritual stability.
This verse teaches that:
Even those with firm belief and knowledge must remain concerned about their spiritual end.
A person’s entire life and fate lies in Allah’s hands.
Those who are promised Paradise are rewarded only because Allah, the Bestower (Al-Wahhab), grants them the ability to remain firm in faith until the end.
Thus, this verse is a reminder and instruction to all believers:
To remain humble,
To constantly seek Allah’s mercy,
And to make du'a for spiritual protection throughout life.
