Transliteration:( Wa lillaahi mulkus samaawaati wal ard; wallaahu 'alaa kulli shai'in Qadeer )
“And to Allah belongs the kingdom [432] of the heavens and the earth, and Allah is powerful over everything.”
This verse declares that the ultimate dominion and ownership of all creation—the heavens and the earth—belongs solely to Allah.
While worldly kings and rulers may hold temporary authority, their power is delegated and limited, granted only by Allah’s will.
Allah’s ownership, in contrast, is absolute, eternal, and independent of any cause or condition.
From this, we understand a broader principle in Qur’anic interpretation:
When verses mention Allah’s exclusive knowledge, power, or authority—such as “For Him is the Knowledge of the Unseen” (Surah An-Nahl 16:77), or “And Allah is sufficient in taking account” (Surah Aal-e-Imran 3:39)—they refer to His absolute, original ownership and ability.
Any help, knowledge, or authority granted to creation is limited, bestowed, and never independent of Him.
This verse serves as a foundation of Tawheed—reminding us that true power, ownership, and control rest with Allah alone, and everything else is subject to His command.
