📖 Commentary of Surah Aal-e-Imran – Verse 162

“So is he who follows the pleasure of Allah [367] like one who brings upon himself the wrath of Allah [368], and whose abode is Hell? And what a wretched place is that to return to.”

✅ [367] The People Who Seek Allah’s Pleasure

This refers to those who strive for the pleasure of Allah Almighty, such as the Muhajireen, Ansaar, and true believers—those who held correct beliefs and performed righteous deeds purely for the sake of Allah. Their end is honourable, and their status is high in the Hereafter.

✅ [368] Those Who Attract Allah’s Wrath

This points to the hypocrites and disbelievers, who incurred the displeasure of Allah Almighty through their falsehood, rejection of truth, and double-faced behavior. These people are not equal to the sincere believers. Their abode is Hell, and it is described as a wretched place to return to—an end that reflects their own deeds.
