Transliteration:( Qaala Rabbi annaa yakoonu lee ghulaamunw wa qad balaghaniyal kibaru wamraatee 'aaqirun qaala kazaalikal laahu yaf'alu maa yashaaa' )
"He said: O my Lord, how shall I have a son when I have already reached old age and my wife is barren? [88] He (Allah) answered: Allah does whatever He pleases [89]."
Hazrat Zakariya (AS) was 120 years old, and his wife was 98 years old.
His question was not out of doubt, but to understand whether Allah would restore their youth or grant a child in old age.
Since the purpose was clarification, no blame lies on Zakariya (AS).
Allah’s response affirms His unlimited power—He can grant a child even in old age, without changing physical conditions.
Indeed, Allah does whatever He wills, beyond human logic.
