Transliteration:( Innaa awlan naasi bi Ibraaheema lallazeenat taba 'oohu wa haazan nabiyyu wallazeena aamanoo; wallaahu waliyyul mu'mineen )
"Surely, the most worthy of people in relation to Ebrahim are those who followed him [145], including this Nabi (Muhammad) and those who believe. And Allah is the Guardian of the believers [146]."
This verse declares that the true heirs of Ibrahim (AS) are:
His sincere followers before Islam, and
The Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and his Ummah, who continue all the practices and beliefs of Ibrahim (AS).
Key lessons:
Obedience, not lineage, determines nearness to Prophets:
Being from a Prophet's progeny is not enough.
Kanaan, the son of Nuh (AS), was not counted among the righteous due to disbelief.
Therefore, Yahud and Nasara who deviate from Ibrahim’s true monotheism are not of his legacy.
Islam revives the practices of Ibrahim (AS):
Rituals such as Hajj, sacrifice (Qurbani), circumcision, and keeping the beard stem from Ibrahim (AS).
These are not practiced in Christianity or Judaism in their current forms, hence only Muslims truly follow him.
From this, two insights arise:
Divine blessings are connected with the righteous:
Allah’s mercy is often extended to others through their association with the pious.
Believers are never truly forsaken:
Even if a Muslim sins, he still remains under Allah’s care due to his devotion to the Prophet ﷺ.
Allah is the Wali (Guardian) of the believers—they are never abandoned due to their attachment to His Beloved Prophet.
