Transliteration:( Wa atee'ul laaha war Rasoola la'allakum turhamoon )
"And obey Allah and the Messenger [282], in the hope that you may be shown mercy."
This verse clearly indicates that the command to obey Allah and His Messenger ﷺ is of an equal and inseparable nature. Obedience to both is compulsory and there is no excuse or exemption for anyone who wishes to attain piety and divine mercy.
We also learn from this verse that the combined remembrance of Allah Almighty and the Holy Prophet ﷺ is part of the divinely ordained method of worship and is not an act of shirk (polytheism). Rather, this joint obedience and remembrance is the correct path of Islam, firmly rooted in the teachings of the Qur'an.
